About Us

Dr Prep Ltd is an established specialist training company. The team originally ran the GETSET for GAMSAT course in 2003. We provided interview preparation as Gradprep in spring 2004 and incorporated into Dr Prep Ltd later in 2004, specialising in all aspects of medical school entry. We also have an expanding range of books.

However, after more than a decade of experience in successfully helping hundreds of applicants to read medicine, we have decided to reduce the company's activity to interview courses for groups, and books and correspondence work only. The day job of medicine is simply getting too busy to do more than that!

As such, Dr Penfold will continue her existing work with several schools across the country, and is happy to receive enquiries from groups of 6 of more.

Dawn Penfold (nee Sellars) MA (Cantab), MBBS, MRCGP
Managing Director

Dawn graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Natural Sciences in 1997. She then worked in NHS management before returning to academia with the Institute of Cancer Research. She is now a GP in York, and achieved 99 in her GP Clinical Skills Assessment. She is also a GP appraiser for NHS England. She was a trained OSCE examiner for one of the London Universities but stopped because she found that she was examining too many previously successful Dr Prep candidates!!

In 2003 she designed and directed the GETSET for GAMSAT course, with 50 delegates and extremely positive feedback. In Spring 2004 she designed and implemented a highly successful interview course for medical school candidates. Over the last decade, she has designed and coordinated more than 100 courses, all with incredible feedback and great success.

She passionately believes in providing quality opportunities to all medical school candidates. She is happy to advise on all aspects of applying to medical school and is the primary author of ' How to Get into Graduate Entry Medical School ' and ' Multiple Mini Interviews '. She also runs bespoke interview courses within schools.
